1 box fish

1 Shallot or Leek, chopped

1 medium sized onion diced

1 Punned mushrooms, sliced

1 block chicken stock cube

2 tablespoons flour

1 cup grated cheese

1/2 liter milk

1 packet mushroom soup powder

5 - 6 medium sized potatoes boiled and mashed


1. Skin the fish and cut into chunks.

2, Place in a pot and add the milk and chicken stock cube. Simmer (not boil) on medium heat for 15 minutes to cook and infuse flavors. Don't add salt.

3. Meanwhile fry chopped onion, leeks and mushrooms in a little butter, add salt and pepper to taste.

4. Put cooked mushroom mix in an oven tray. Strain the fish. Keep the liquid. Add fish to the mushroom mix and use a fork to break it into smaller pieces.

5. Mix well and put aside while you make the sauce. Use the milk that the fish was cooked in bring to the boil.

6. Mix 2 tablespoons flour in a little bit of water, together with the mushroom soup powder. When milk is boiling, add flour/soup mix, stir constantly to avoid burning. The mix should be quite thick.

7. Add 3/4 of the cheese and mix well. Pour onto the fish in the oven dish and mix well. Spoon mash on top and smooth evenly with the back of a fork.

8. Sprinkle remaining cheese over and bake in oven 190 degrees/340 degrees depending on Fahrenheit or Celsius for half an hour. Serve with fresh green salad.
