1 tbsp olive oil

1½ cups chopped onion

1 cup chopped green pepper

1 tsp. dried oregano

4 garlic cloves, minced

½ cup dry red wine

1 tsp. dried basil

½ tsp. salt

¼ tsp. black pepper

1 (28 oz) cans crushed tomatoes

1 (6 oz) can tomato paste

2 bay leaves


1. Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium-high heat. Add onion, bell pepper, oregano, and garlic; cook 5 minutes or until vegetables are tender, stirring occasionally.

2. Add wine and remaining ingredients, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer for 30 minutes. Remove bay leaves and serve with a dish of your choice. E
